Learning & development programs

Built to connect skill and behavior development to performance metrics have greater effectiveness.

Why it matters

The problem this solves.

Most training delivers information but fails to produce measurable skill attainment or lasting behavior change. And without meaningful content, employees don't buy-in and so the training doesn't have a measurable impact.

Content is not capability

A course that transmits information rarely changes behavior. Programs have to be engineered around observable performance—what someone does on the job after the training ends.

Unaligned programs quietly waste budget

When learning objectives are not tied to business outcomes, there is no way to defend the spend or to know what to cut. Alignment is what makes an L&D budget durable.

Scattered programs create uneven bench strength

Without a coherent curriculum, capability depends on which manager an employee happened to work for. A designed program makes development consistent and portable.

What the work involves

How I approach it.

Engagements are scoped to your context. These are the components I draw from, sequenced to fit the decision you are trying to make. I stay involved from the first diagnosis through delivery and measurement.

  1. Outcome definition

I start with the performance change you need, stated in terms specific enough to measure, and work backward from there.

  2. Curriculum architecture

Learning objectives, sequencing, and modality decisions—what needs to be live and facilitated versus self-paced, and why.

  3. Content and facilitation build

Participant materials, facilitator guides, activities, and assessments built so your team can deliver the program independently.

  4. Pilot and refinement

I work with you to run a pilot cohort, collect evidence, and refine the program before it scales across the organization.

  5. Measurement plan

The evaluation design is built alongside the program, so impact data exists from the first cohort rather than being reconstructed later.

Example project

What a project could deliver.

The situation

A growing organization promotes strong individual contributors into people-management roles, but new managers receive no structured preparation. Turnover on their teams is climbing.

The outcome

New managers arrive at the role with a shared playbook, and leadership can see—in data—whether the program is changing manager behavior and team retention.

What you receive

  • A defined manager capability model with observable behaviors for each level
  • A six-module new-manager curriculum with learning objectives mapped to those behaviors
  • Facilitator guides and slide decks your internal team can use independently
  • Participant workbooks, practice scenarios, and manager-coach conversation guides
  • A pre/post assessment plus a 90-day on-the-job application check
  • An evaluation dashboard tracking cohort progress and team-level retention

This is an illustrative scope, not a fixed package. Actual deliverables are defined with you during scoping.
